Planning for the race – which is part of the Midwest Championship Series of the Southern Indiana Racing Association (SIRA) – has been under way for nearly a year, ever since the 2009 Jubilee Days ended, says Hagerstown resident Ed Nugent, a Nettle Creek Lions Club member who is overseeing the planning effort.

Layoffs' coming again

Another layoff is coming to Autocar and Local 3050. No official reason for the layoff has been announced yet, but I'm sure it has to do with lax truck orders.

Autocar will be using a voluntary layoff approach this time to reduce workforce. This means workers will apply for the layoff and then Autocar will approve or reject (his/her) request. A limited number of people will be allowed to take the layoff per (his/her) seniority in there station or department.

The exact number has not been released as of yet. Expected return date is set for July 14.
(UPDATE: 11 People have chosen to take the layoff)
